Crowds in New York's Times Square were gripped as BMX champions Daniel Dhers and Ryan Nyquist, as well as BMX pros James Foster, Mike Spinner, Colton Satterfield and others performed their high-flying stunts yesterday.
After an hour of battling it out on a ramp that featured a 25-foot high roll-in and a 14-foot high quarter pipe, the judges named Colton Satterfield as the winner.
Champion BMX rider Ryan Nyquist said there was nothing like performing in Times Square.
"There's so many people just walking by, constantly just a fresh crowd it seems like. These ramps are amazing, so the riding is phenomenal. But you look up and you are staring at Times Square. It doesn't get much better than that," Nyquist said.
The "Air in the Square" event will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net on July 22.
